Sunken Steamboat from 1856 Recovered and on Display in W. PA. Treasures of the Arabia

A steamboat recovery expert discovered a large cache of items from a steamboat that sunk in the Missouri River in 1856. The river changed course and the boat was found 45 feet below ground in a corn field. The Sen. John Heinz History Center has unveiled an exhibit of artifacts recovered from a steamboat, built in 1853 in Pittsburgh.
